Olas Altas Beach
Olas Altas was Mazatlan‘s first “tourist“ beach during the the 50‘s and 60‘s. These days it is visited mainly by the local crowd and visitors staying in the old part of town. It is quite a paradise for surfers who find the west facing waves an exciting challenge.
Mazatlan Cathedral
Dating back to 1890, the Mazatlan‘s cathedral is a must see.
The Angela Peralta Theatre
One of Mazatlan‘s landmark buildings, it was built in 1865. Remodeled and reopened in
1992 after lenghty restoration process that took five years to complete.
Playa Gaviotas
Playa Gaviotas is a vibrant beach located in the hotel section of town, right at the
beginning of the Golden Zone, making it the most popular beach in town. Here you
can find avariety of activities - jet skis, beach volleyball parachuting and parasailing.
The lighthouse
Mazatlan‘s “El Faro“ is the world's second highest lighthouse in the world. For those that are fit, it is possible to climb to it for spectacular views of the city and the Pacific Ocean.
Old Mazatlan
The area of Old Mazatlan offer visitors the opportunity to experience the way mazatlecos
lived in the past, before it became a tourist destination. Old Mazatlan is like a charming
spanish colonial town - with small squares, very old buildings , and narrow streets where
cars did not use to pass. Many of the historical buildings date back to the 19th century.
The Plazuela Machado is a vibrant square filled with trendy bars, restaurants, live music
and art shops.

Archaeology Museum
Mazatlan‘s archaeology museum opens from tuesday to sunday (sunday admission is free!) and exhibits a beautiful collection of cultural treasures and artifacts from the State of Sinaloa.
Acuario Mazatlan
At Mazatlan‘s beautiful aquarium, one of the largest of Latinamerica is a hose for sharks, eels,
lobsters, sea horses, and many more species. Enjoy daily sea lion and bird shows, as well as
the botanical garden and small zoo. Open daily from 9:30am to 6:30pm.
Sea Shell Museum
Located in the heart of the Golden Zone, you will find a beautiful variety os seashell and silver jewelry, as well as a vast display of all kinds of shells, and even some whale bones! Open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m
Mazatlan Water Sports
At thebeach you can easily find parasailing, banana rides, Hobby Cats, and parachute rides. At the north end of town there is a big water park, lots of fun for kids - of all ages - Parque Mazagua. Kayaking around Mazatlan‘s islands, snorkeling, scuba diving, and jet skiing, are also available.
Mazatlan Sportfishing
Mazatlan known as the "The Billfish Capitol of the World," and "The Sailfish Capitol of the World." has a rich sportfishing heritage, one of Mexico‘s oldest and reaches back into the 1960s when famous movie stars came to fish here.
Mazatlan sportfishing waters are centered about one-third the way down Mexico‘s Pacific coast and the city of Mazatlan itself sits at about 23 degrees north latitude, just a few miles south of the Tropic of Cancer at 23 degrees, 30 minutes north. Mazatlan also offers freshwater black bass fishing at two nearby world famous lakes, El Salto and Comedero.
Mazatlan Golf
Mazatlan is home to three championship golf courses. Two of the championship courses are located in town, and the third a beautiful new course that skirts the ocean, is located south of the town, on Stone Island, just a short distance from the airport.
